Digital Flight Data Acquisition Unit (DFDAU) Digital Flight Data Management Unit (DFDMU)
The Teledyne Controls' DFDAU/DFDMU acquires aircraft data via digital data bus and analog inputs, and formats that information for output to
the mandatory Flight Data Recorder in accordance with requirements of regulatory agencies. In addition to the mandatory function, most Teledyne
DFDAU's have a second processor and memory module which enables them to perform a limited amount of Aircraft Condition
Monitoring System (ACMS) functions / reports such as long-term trend data and aircraft / engine monitoring. Also, the DFDAU provides data and pre-defined reports to the cockpit printer or display for the flight crew, directly to the ACARS Management Unit for transmitting
the ground, and to a maintenance recorder (QAR) or Wireless GroundLink® for recording / storage / transfer of raw aircraft data.
