Digital Flight Data Acquisition Unit (DFDAU-81X) Digital Flight Data Management Unit (DFDMU)
Teledyne Controls' DFDAU/DFDMU acquires aircraft data via digital data bus and analog inputs, and formats the acquired information for output to the mandatory Flight Data Recorder in accordance with requirements of regulatory agencies. In addition to the mandatory function, most Teledyne DFDAUs have a second processor and memory module which enables them to perform a limited amount of Aircraft Condition Monitoring System (ACMS) functions and generate reports, such as long-term trend data and aircraft / engine monitoring. Also, the DFDAU sends data and pre-defined reports to a printer or display in the cockpit for the flight crew to review. Even more, The DFDAU can send reports directly to the ACARS Management Unit for transmitting to the ground, and to a maintenance recorder (QAR) or the Wireless GroundLink® system for recording, storage and transfer of raw aircraft data.
