UPS Airlines Selects the Teledyne Controls Data Acquisition Units
For New MD-11 Fleet
LOS ANGELES - June 19, 2001 - Teledyne Controls received an order from UPS Airlines for Digital Flight Data Acquisition Units (DFDAU) for their new fleet of MD-11 aircraft.
This selection by UPS Airlines follows the recent retrofit installations of the same Teledyne DFDAU installed on their Boeing 757 and 767 fleets. The DFDAU for the MD-11 will carry the same part number as the 757/767 unit, providing the benefits of commonality. Further, Teledyne will develop a customized Aircraft Condition Monitoring System (ACMS) application software package designed to provide unprecedented visibility into the operation and condition of the aircraft and its engines. Finally, the DFDAU provides an integrated Quick Access Recorder (QAR) allowing for rapid retrieval of continuously recorded data to support maintenance activity and safety initiatives (FOQA).
Teledyne has been providing Data Acquisition Equipment along with supporting ground data processing stations to operating airlines for over 20 years. It is this end to end transfer of data which has made Teledyne the leading supplier for this type of equipment.
