Teledyne Controls Unveils the New MagnaStar®
Personality Memory Feature
LOS ANGELES - April 23, 2001 - Teledyne Controls, a business unit of Teledyne Technologies Incorporated (NYSE:TDY) announced that, beginning this month, the MagnaStar® air telephone system will offer a new maintenance feature called the Personality Memory Module. Designed for installations with multiple telephone and data ports, the Personality Memory Module reduces servicing time by eliminating the need to reprogram each handset should the MagnaStar® system ever need maintenance.
Accomplished via a software upgrade to the existing Cabin Distribution Busrepeater-2, the Personality Memory automates the transfer of configuration data to the MagnaStar® air radio. This automation reduces system set-up time and eliminates the need to re-enter speed dial numbers, system and station configuration parameters. The upgrade involves no changes to existing aircraft hardware.
