Rio Sul Places a Large Order For Their Fleet From Teledyne Controls

Los Angeles - February 1, 2001 - Teledyne Controls, a business unit of Teledyne Electronics and Communications, recently received an order from Rio Sul Airlines to supply the enhanced MFDAU, TeleLink® (Mini-CMU) and printer for their ERJ-145 fleet, and the CMU, OQAR and IDU for their B737-Classic fleet, as well as a FLIDRAS Work Station to analyze the data for their flight safety team.

Teledyne Controls' MFDAU processes mandatory data acquisition, as required by the current FAA and European JAR-OPS requirements. The lightweight MFDAU, designed for future data acquisition, plays an active role as an intermediary device, acquiring and processing mandatory aircraft and engine data for storage in the flight data recorder known as the aircraft's black box. When installed with the Aircraft Condition Monitoring System (ACMS) option, and Teledyne Controls TeleLink® datalink system, the MFDAU provides the means to transmit real-time critical aircraft-condition information to the ground for data analysis.

The 1 MCU Telelink® communicates with existing ground networks per ARINC 724B message formats, and can grow to include ARINC 758 CMU messaging. This growth capability will allow Telelink® operators to implement AOA/VDL Mode 2 with their existing Telelink® hardware.
