LOS ANGELES, CA - October 14, 2004 - Teledyne Controls, a business unit of Teledyne Technologies Incorporated (NYSE: TDY), announced today that business aviation specialist PrivatAir has selected Teledyne Controls' Flight Data Monitoring (FDM) services to support its Flight Operations Quality Assurance (FOQA) program. Under the agreement, Teledyne Controls will perform the analysis of PrivatAir's flight data and deliver comprehensive reports designed to assist the airline in its flight safety initiatives.
"We are very pleased that a leading business aviation group like PrivatAir recognized the value of our services and chose to outsource its flight data analysis," said William Cecil, Teledyne Controls' manager of Sales and Service for the Europe region. "Many business aviation operators may not have the internal infrastructure or resources necessary to effectively manage a flight data monitoring program; our flight data services provide a convenient and cost-effective alternative."
The first business aviation group to use Teledyne Controls for its flight data analysis, PrivatAir joins the family of Teledyne's FDM services customers, which already includes leading American and European airlines.
Teledyne Controls' Advanced FDM Service enables an operator to send its flight data to a Teledyne Data Center, where it is securely stored, processed and analyzed. Regular reports, highlighting operations trends and risk precursors, are delivered back to the customer, who can also access its own data remotely. Other levels of Teledyne's FDM services also include 3D flight data animation and FDM pilot consultation.
The Advanced FDM Service is part of Teledyne's FOQA offering, which includes solutions ranging from fully outsourced flight information analysis services, flight data processing and reporting applications, to data replay and simulation systems. Teledyne Controls also markets the AQD (Aviation Quality Software), an application designed for safety and quality assurance. This comprehensive and integrated set of tools covers all functions from accident/incident reporting, analysis and investigation to auditing and corrective action tracking.
