Teledyne Controls' TeleLink™ Selected for Boeing Business Jet

LOS ANGELES, CA – The Boeing Company has selected Teledyne Controls, a business unit of Teledyne Electronics and Communications, a Teledyne Technologies company (NYSE:TDY), to provide TeleLinkÔ data link systems as the option to Boeing Business Jet customers. Boeing certified the TeleLinkÔ for the Boeing Business Jet in July 1999.

The TeleLinkÔ two-way data system links onboard systems with air-to-ground communication networks, allowing connection via service providers for a variety of Air Traffic Management and Flight Operations conveniences. These conveniences include pre-departure clearances, real-time weather (including graphics options), digital Automatic Terminal Information System (ATIS), Terminal Weather Information for Pilots (TWIP) and messaging. Teledyne Controls is working with various weather service providers to develop the next generation in Weather Information Services, which is intended to fully utilize the capability and flexibility of TeleLinkÔ .

The Boeing Business Jet, a special, high-performance derivative of the next-generation 737-700 specifically designed for corporate and VIP applications, joins the all new Bombardier Global Express ultra long range business jet in offering the TeleLinkÔ as the data link option onboard its aircraft.
