LOS ANGELES, CA - February 1, 2007 - Teledyne Controls, a business unit of Teledyne Technologies Incorporated (NYSE: TDY), announced today that it has been awarded a major contract by Alteon Training, a subsidiary of The Boeing Company, to supply its ReVision flight crew training solution. Under the agreement, Teledyne Controls will deliver multiple ReVision brief-debrief systems to support Alteon's training operations in the Pacific Rim region.
The first of the ReVision systems ordered by Alteon are to be installed on Boeing 737NG, B747-400 and B777-200 full flight simulators, for use by Korean Airlines to support their flight crew training programs. The brief-debrief stations will be fitted by Teledyne's simulation specialists to provide enhanced technology platforms for simulator training preparation and briefing, as well as for post training review and analysis. ReVision will also enable the end users to produce their own specific training syllabus and standard operating procedure training videos, for use in ground school, recurrent and transition training courses.
"Alteon continuously works to enhance the training experience for our airline partners. In this case, the brief/de-brief solution that Teledyne is providing will enable our students in South Korea to take full advantage of their learning in the simulators," said Keith Williams, Vice President of Asia Pacific for Alteon.
"Alteon is a major force in aviation training and their selection of our debrief system technology further reinforces the leading position Teledyne has in this field," said Bill Duncan, director of Business Development for Teledyne Controls' Flight Simulation Systems. "This is a significant contract for us and we look forward to collaborating with Alteon on training initiatives in other locations."
ReVision is a sophisticated PC-based flight crew training solution that was specifically designed to provide civil and military instructors with an advanced technology platform to support classroom, crew based training (CBT), fixed base and full flight simulator training and briefing. ReVision systems can be fitted to new production full flight simulators and training devices, as well as retrofitted on legacy flight simulators already in operation, in order to provide seamless continuity within a training center.
