Jade Cargo International Orders Teledyne Controls' integrated Data Management Unit (iDMU) For Its New Boeing 747-400ERF Fleet

LOS ANGELES, CA - June 27, 2006 - Teledyne Controls, a business unit of Teledyne Technologies Incorporated (NYSE: TDY), announced today that Jade Cargo International, a joint venture between Shenzhen Airlines, Lufthansa Cargo and DEG - Deutsche Investitions- und Entwicklungsgesellschaft, has ordered Teledyne Controls' integrated Data Management Unit (iDMU) for installation on its new B747-400ERF fleet. Teledyne's iDMU will provide the new Chinese cargo carrier with a compact and reliable solution for aircraft condition monitoring and data recording.

"The main reason why we selected the Teledyne iDMU is because it offers higher reliability than the legacy data management systems on the market today," said Frank Berger, Vice President Maintenance & Engineering at Jade Cargo International and responsible for the Boeing fleet. "Moreover, the Teledyne iDMU integrates a PC Card QAR (Quick Access recorder) function, which will allow us to install one single piece of hardware. This will improve the reliability of the system, while resulting in a significant cost saving."

"We are very pleased to be involved with a promising cargo operator like Jade Cargo International," said Hans-Juergen Neufert, senior manager of Sales and Service at Teledyne Controls. "We look forward to assisting them further in the management of their aircraft data, and developing a long and successful relationship."

Designed to meet the extensive data monitoring requirements of modern digital aircraft, Teledyne Controls' iDMU is a new-generation data management system that succeeds the Teledyne legacy DMU, already used by more than twenty-five operators, in over 700 installations. Integrating the latest technology, the iDMU delivers increased performance, while significantly reducing the circuit card count, which results in higher reliability, reduced weight and lower maintenance costs. Accepting data from a variety of data acquisition systems, the iDMU's enhanced ACMS function facilitates aircraft/engine performance monitoring, in addition to daily flight operations monitoring. It also features a user-programmable interface that allows airlines to customize their own ACMS applications. The iDMU integrates a data recording function via PC Card media, offering operators the benefits of a multi-function system into a single unit, such as reduced space and power consumption.
