LOS ANGELES, CA - November 13, 2006 - Teledyne Controls, a business unit of Teledyne Technologies Incorporated (NYSE: TDY), announced today that Wizz Air has selected Teledyne Controls' FDIMU (Flight Data Interface Management Unit) for installation on its new A320 aircraft fleet. The Central and Eastern Europe's (CEE) new low cost airline, will use the Teledyne multi-function unit to perform flight data acquisition, aircraft condition monitoring and data recording.
"We are very pleased that Wizz Air has selected our data acquisition equipment for their new A320 aircraft fleet," said Hans Juergen Neufert, Teledyne Controls' Senior Manager of Sales and Service for the European region. "We look forward to supporting their growth and continuing to work with them on their aircraft data management needs."
Chosen by over 85 operators worldwide, Teledyne Controls' FDIMU is a compact and integrated data acquisition and recording system available for installation on the Airbus Single Aisle A319/A320/A321 and Long Range A330/A340 aircraft families. Based on Teledyne's concept of LRU Compression , the FDIMU combines into a single Line Replaceable Unit (LRU) the multiple functions of traditionally separated systems. By fulfilling the functions of the Flight Data Interface Unit (FDIU) used for mandatory data acquisition, the Data Management Unit (DMU) that performs engine/aircraft condition monitoring, and the Digital Access Recorder (DAR), the FDIMU can literally replace up to three LRUs, allowing operators to reduce weight, wiring and rack space, and make significant savings on initial equipment cost.
