LOS ANGELES, CA - January 16, 2006 - Teledyne Controls, a business unit of Teledyne Technologies Incorporated (NYSE: TDY), announced today that Shenzhen Airlines has selected Teledyne's Flight Data Monitoring (FDM) solutions to enhance their existing FOQA (Flight Operations Quality Assurance ) program. The Chinese carrier ordered AirFASE®, a flight data analysis and reporting software tool jointly developed by Teledyne Controls and Airbus, along with Vision, Teledyne's latest-generation flight animation system. Used in conjunction, the two systems are designed to provide Shenzhen Airlines with extended capability to monitor their fleet and further increase safety and operational efficiency.
The AirFASE system will be used to monitor Shenzhen Airlines' fleets of A320, B737-300 and B737-NG aircraft; it will perform the functions of flight data processing, analysis and reporting. Vision will serve as the main flight visualization tool, computing flight data into advanced 3-D animations designed to complement traditional data display methods, and make the investigation process faster and easier.
