LOS ANGELES, CA - September 1, 2006 - Teledyne Controls, a business unit of Teledyne Technologies Incorporated (NYSE: TDY), announced today that it has received Maintenance Organization Approval from the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) for its Los Angeles facility. This approval will allow the Teledyne Controls repair station to perform inspections, repair, overhaul and modification of avionics components for its Chinese customers.
"This approval is instrumental in providing additional support to our Chinese customers, as it will allow us to issue CAAC Airworthiness Approval Tags for repaired products," said George Casper, Teledyne Controls' Director for the Asia-Pacific region.
The Chinese aviation regulatory authority issued Teledyne Controls a Maintenance Organization Certificate that recognized the California repair station's compliance with the Part 145 requirements of the CAAC Regulations. This latest approval adds to Teledyne Controls' qualifications, which already include FAA and EASA Part 145 Maintenance.
The Teledyne Controls Los Angeles service center operates under a Quality Management System that is approved to ISO 9001:2000 and AS9100:2001 Section 1 for the design, manufacture, and repair of electronic systems for Commercial and Military Aviation. Manned by a team of highly trained test and rework personnel, the facility operates and maintains a full complement of separate test equipment and material to support repair and modifications of all the Teledyne Controls products in service in the American, Asian and Australian continents.
