LOS ANGELES, CA - July 10, 2006 - Teledyne Controls, a business unit of Teledyne Technologies Incorporated (NYSE: TDY), announced today that Blue Wings has selected Teledyne Controls' Flight Data Monitoring (FDM) services to support its Flight Operations Quality Assurance (FOQA) program. The German carrier has opted for Teledyne's new Tier 2 Gold Service consisting of the analysis of the airline's flight data by Teledyne and the delivery of a comprehensive package of reports providing information on operational events and trends.
"Implementing a successful FOQA program requires an extensive range of operational and engineering expertise," said Hans Juergen Neufert, Teledyne Controls' Senior Manager of Sales and Service for the European region. "We are very pleased that Blue Wings has selected Teledyne Controls to outsource their flight data analysis and we look forward to implementing an advanced system that will meet and exceed their flight safety requirements."
With the addition of Blue Wings, Teledyne's FDM replay service now includes in excess of 220 aircraft.
Teledyne Controls' FDM services provide convenient, flexible and cost-effective solutions that enable aircraft operators to send their flight data to a Teledyne Data Center, where it is securely stored, processed and analyzed. Periodic reports, highlighting operations trends, are delivered back to the customers, who also have the ability to access their own data remotely. Teledyne Controls offers 4 levels of flight data services that range from basic replay and archiving to a comprehensive managed service including verification and validation of events, 3D flight data animation and FDM pilot consultation.
FDM Services are an integral part of Teledyne's end-to-end aircraft data management solution. Designed to assist airlines with their FOQA/FDM initiatives, these offerings include innovative airborne data acquisition products, air-to-ground wireless data transfer systems and ground-based applications that fit together to deliver greater benefits to the operators and provide the total solution needed for a successful flight safety program.
