Teledyne Controls Receives Order from Hamburg International for Wireless GroundLink® and AirFASE®

LOS ANGELES, CA - September 8, 2005 - Teledyne Controls, a business unit of Teledyne Technologies Incorporated (NYSE: TDY), announced today that German charter carrier Hamburg International has placed an order for Wireless GroundLink® and AirFASE®. Teledyne's Wireless GroundLink (Wireless Quick Access Recorder - WQAR) allows operators to automate the recording and transmission of their flight data and therefore reducing risk of data loss involved with traditional manual procedures. AirFASE, a flight data analysis and reporting software tool jointly developed by Teledyne Controls and Airbus, is designed to assist operators with their flight operations, safety management, and aircraft maintenance programs. Used in conjunction, these two systems will provide Hamburg International with a complete and automated flight data monitoring solution.

"As a charter carrier, we need a reliable and flexible solution to collect our flight data on a regular basis and, independently of aircraft location, deliver the data to our Flight Safety department," said Uli Albrecht, Flight Safety Officer at Hamburg International. "Teledyne's Wireless GroundLink provides the flexibility to receive flight data upon landing in any airport, which will assist us in our daily operations and in responding more quickly to any issues detected, especially with the use of AirFASE which provides the flight data analysis and reporting component of the system."

"Teledyne is very pleased to provide Hamburg International with a solution that fully meets their specific requirements," said Hans Juergen Neufert, Teledyne Controls' Senior Manager of Sales and Service for the European region. "We look forward to assisting in their continued growth."

A significant element in safety management and aircraft maintenance programs, Teledyne Controls' Wireless GroundLink is designed to provide aircraft operators with an immediate, reliable, and cost-effective solution for data recording and transmission. Offering unprecedented reliability, the GroundLink system is designed to record and wirelessly transfer flight data from the aircraft to the ground, without any media handling and human intervention. The raw data recorded during flight is compressed, encrypted and then transmitted via cellular technology and the Internet to the airline's or Teledyne's ground-based data center for processing and analysis. Using the Teledyne Wireless GroundLink system, airlines can significantly reduce data delivery delays (the data is available within 10-15 minutes after an aircraft has landed, versus several days or weeks with manual data retrieval). Additional operational benefits are realized since human resources, equipment costs and data-loss associated with manual retrieval methods are virtually eliminated.

Chosen by over 50 airlines worldwide, AirFASE offers a proven flight data analysis solution that allows aircraft operators to maintain their flight operations monitoring programs and harmonize them with regulatory agencies' recommendations and requirements. Designed to translate aircraft data into meaningful information, AirFASE enables operators to evaluate flight operations trends, identify risk precursors, and take early preventive/corrective actions. AirFASE performs all the major functions of the flight data analysis process. A sophisticated Flight Analysis Program (FAP), unique to each aircraft type, reconstructs the flight, compares actual data with recommended values, and highlights abnormal events and deviations. Advanced visualization tools, including 3D animation, allow for the easy review of flight information, while a powerful and configurable reporting editor delivers comprehensive and customizable reports. AirFASE is compatible with all major types of commercial transport aircraft, such as Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier, Embraer, etc.
