Teledyne Controls Receives Order from Cyprus Airways Group for AirFASE® and Wireless GroundLink®

LOS ANGELES, CA - May 26, 2005 - Teledyne Controls, a business unit of Teledyne Technologies Incorporated (NYSE: TDY), announced today that the Cyprus Airways group, including Cyprus Airways, Eurocypria Airlines and Hellas Jet, has placed an order for AirFASE® and Wireless GroundLink®. AirFASE, a flight data analysis and reporting software tool jointly developed by Teledyne Controls and Airbus, is designed to assist aircraft operators with their flight operations, safety management, and aircraft maintenance programs. It will be instrumental in expanding the existing Cypriot group's Safety Management System (SMS) to include Flight Data Monitoring (FDM) capability. Teledyne's Wireless GroundLink (Wireless Quick Access Recorder - WQAR) will assist Hellas Jet to fully automate the recording and transmission of its flight data.

"We have selected AirFASE following a technical and financial evaluation of various possible solutions. Teledyne Controls and Airbus have been leaders in the area of Flight Data Monitoring since its inception and we can rely on their expertise for a successful deployment" said Christos Ellinides, Chief Information Officer at Cyprus Airways Group. "Moreover the AirFASE system is a service proven solution that has been successfully installed at many airlines and is compatible with both Airbus and Boeing aircraft." The AirFASE system will be utilized by the three airlines of the Cyprus Airways group. Additionally, Hellas Jet, the Greek arm of the group, has elected to use Teledyne's Wireless GroundLink® for the recording and wireless transmission of its flight data.

"Teledyne is very pleased that the Cyprus Airways group has selected our solutions for their safety management program," said Willie Cecil, Teledyne Controls' Manager of Sales and Service for the European region. "We look forward to a continued and beneficial collaboration with them."

Already in service at approximately 30 airlines, AirFASE offers a proven flight data analysis solution that allows airlines to maintain their flight operations monitoring programs and harmonize them with regulatory agencies' recommendations and requirements. Designed to translate aircraft data into meaningful information, AirFASE enables operators to evaluate flight operations trends, identify risk precursors, and take early preventive/corrective actions. AirFASE performs all the major functions of the flight data analysis process. A sophisticated Flight Analysis Program (FAP), unique to each aircraft type, reconstructs the flight, compares actual data with recommended values, and highlights abnormal events and deviations. Advanced visualization tools, including 3D animation, allow for the easy review of flight information, while a powerful and configurable reporting editor delivers comprehensive and customizable reports. AirFASE is compatible with all major types of commercial transport aircraft, such as Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier, Embraer, etc.

A significant element in safety management and aircraft maintenance programs, Teledyne Controls' Wireless GroundLink is designed to provide aircraft operators with an immediate, reliable, and cost-effective solution for data recording and transmission. Offering unprecedented reliability, the GroundLink system is designed to record and wirelessly transfer flight data from the aircraft to the ground, without any media handling and human intervention. The raw data recorded during the flight is compressed, encrypted and then transmitted via cellular technology and the Internet to the airline's or Teledyne's ground-based data center for processing and analysis. Using the Teledyne Wireless GroundLink system, airlines can reduce data delivery delays (the data is available within 10-15 minutes after an aircraft has landed, versus several days or weeks with manual data retrieval), cut human and equipment costs associated with manual data retrieval, and eliminate data loss that can reach 30% with conventional manual methods.
