Teledyne Controls' Vision Flight Visualization Product Continues to Lead the Market with Orders from European, Asian, and African Carriers.
OTTAWA, CANADA - August 19, 2004- Teledyne Controls, a business unit of Teledyne Technologies Incorporated (NYSE: TDY), announced today that Teledyne Controls Simulation has been awarded contracts by South African Airlines, Malev Hungarian Airlines, Alitalia Express, Malaysian Airlines, and Singapore Airlines to supply its latest generation of aircraft flight animation products.
These orders reinforce Teledyne Controls' lead in delivering high quality flight visualization solutions for the investigation, analysis and presentation of flight operational information. They also position Teledyne's Vision system as the most widely used flight animation solution in the industry. "The Vision system has been embraced as a purposeful, powerfully designed flight visualization and investigation toolset by airlines around the world," said Steven Roberts, general manager for Teledyne Controls Simulation. "As we work with our customers to meet and anticipate their requirements, our Vision software has produced thousands of flight data reconstructions, helping the airlines gain better insight into their particular areas of interest." Vision Version 3.0 is scheduled to be released this Fall.
South African Airways (SAA), Africa's leading airline based in Johannesburg, selected Teledyne's Vision flight animation product in conjunction with AirFASE™, the comprehensive data measurement, analysis, and reporting tool jointly developed by Teledyne Controls and Airbus. Malev Hungarian Airlines, Budapest-based national carrier, along with the Italian flag carrier's regional arm Alitalia Express, located in Rome, selected the Vision system to work with their existing flight data analysis systems provided by Teledyne Controls.
Malaysian Airlines (MAS), the national flag carrier based in Kuala Lumpur, ordered a comprehensive upgrade to their existing Vision system, expanding their capability to three new airframes. Singapore Airlines (SIA), one of the world's leading passenger and cargo carriers, ordered an expansion of their existing Vision capability to encompass their recently acquired Airbus A340-500 aircraft.
Vision is a Windows 2000/XP PC-based software application designed to enable the rapid visualization of complex flight operations information. By delivering accurate and compelling flight data animations, Vision reconstructs flight reality, therefore making the investigation process faster and easier. Sophisticated flight path generation algorithms, photo realistic aircraft instrumentation, airfield satellite imagery, as well as navigation and data plots combine to make Vision the product of choice for major airlines that operate FOQA (Flight Operations Quality Assurance) and FDM (Flight Data Monitoring) programs.
