Raytheon Aircraft Company Selects Teledyne Controls' AvVisor® Cabin Display For Use On NetJets' Hawker 400XP Business Jet Fleet

LOS ANGELES, CA - October 12, 2004 - Teledyne Controls, a business unit of Teledyne Technologies Incorporated (NYSE: TDY), announced today that Raytheon Aircraft Company has placed an order for Teledyne AvVisor® cabin information display systems for installation on NetJets' new fleet of Hawker 400XP aircraft. The AvVisor solution, initially selected by Hawker business jet manufacturer Raytheon Aircraft and offered as an option on the 400XP, will be implemented on NetJets' entire 400XP fleet. The purchase agreement, signed between Teledyne Controls and Raytheon Aircraft, includes a firm order for 70 cabin display systems, plus 50 options, along with cockpit instrumentation and cabin signage.

"The AvVisor cabin display family provides compact, light-weight, and feature rich aircraft situation information and entertainment systems, at a much lower cost than other offerings available on the market today," said Mark Shoemaker, Teledyne Controls' director of Sales and Service for the Business Aviation market. The AvVisor cabin display system provides passengers with a wide range of accurate, real-time in-flight information that enhances situational awareness. Information, such as altitude, ground speed, ETA (Estimated Time of Arrival), and distance to destination, is displayed in brilliant color, through a clear AMLCD (Active Matrix Liquid Crystal Display) screen. Operators can adjust and pre-program the display sequence, allowing new pages to appear at selected time intervals. Information can be viewed in several languages. For a personalized appearance, logos and photographs can be easily loaded or changed through a serial interface. Available in the 8.4-inch display size, the total system weighs less than six pounds on the Hawker 400XP.

Another Teledyne in-flight cabin information solution is AvVisor® Plus. This sixth-generation cabin display system offers additional features, such as topographical moving maps and digital video (DVD). AvVisor Plus provides passengers with cabin audio interface and the ability to select map zoom levels to track the aircraft's progress with varying levels of geographic detail. The system can also display customized graphics, integrate Microsoft PowerPoint® presentations, and play video clips. Like the AvVisor system, AvVisor Plus utilizes a full VGA (Video Graphics Array), bright, flat-panel AMLCD, available in 6.4-, 8.4- and 10.4-inch sizes, and allowing for a completely digital information stream. VGA display and SCSI hard drive interfaces are available for additional system flexibility. The AvVisor systems are also equipped to receive signals from the aircraft to incorporate "No Smoking" and "Fasten Seatbelt" messages while in flight.
